NEW DELHI: India in the past 24 hours reported 3.62 lakh new COVID-19 cases, according to the latest data from the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

India's cumulative number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 2,37,03,665, with 3,62,727 new cases being reported during the period.

India's COVID-19 death toll has risen to 2,58,317, with 4,120 new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

A total of  3,52,181 people infected with the virus have been recorded and discharged during the period.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 83.26 percent.

India currently has 37,10,525 active  COVID cases.

A total of 17,72,14,256 doses of COVID vaccines have been administered across the country so far.

Moreover, for the fourth day in a row, Maharashtra's case count remained below 50,000, while Kerala and Tamil Nadu set new highs of over 43,000 and 30,000 cases, respectively.

Meanwhile, despite reports of a COVID-19 vaccine shortage in several states, Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech have submitted their production plans to the Centre for the next four months, indicating that they will increase production to 10 crore and 7.8 crore doses, respectively, by August, according to official sources.
