DIMAPUR: The Kohima district administration launched relief distribution to the daily wage earners at Khouchiezie Kohima local ground today.
Launching the programme, deputy commissioner and chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Gregory Thejawelie provided relief items to around 50 beneficiaries for the day.
The dry ration relief package is being given by the Nagaland government to mitigate the economic hardship being faced by the daily wage earners/labourers and needy families in the entire State.
In Kohima district, a total of 7,000 beneficiaries from among the daily wage earners/labourers will be assisted with the relief package.

Under administrative sub-division/circle, Chiephobozou has been allotted 700 beneficiaries, Tseminyu 700, Jakhama 300, Sechu Zubza 300, Botsa 300, Kezocha 200 and Tsogin 200 and the remaining 4,300 beneficiaries will be from the Kohima Municipal Council area and Kohima Sadar.
Kohima additional deputy commissioner Bhavani Sri flagged off the relief distribution for the sub-divisions in the district.
The dry ration relief package contains 12 food items include rice 10 kgs, lentils 1 kg, kholar/Naga dal 1 kg, mustard oil half litre, sugar 1 kg, salt 1 kg, tea leaves 200 gms, bathing soap 2 pieces, washing soap 2 pieces, masala 100 gms, onion and garlic 1 kg and chilli powder 100 gms.
A team of officials from district administration, DDMA, Food and Civil Supplies department, Police, Nehru Yuva Kendra and volunteers from various organisations were engaged in the relief distribution.
