IMPHAL: Manipur chief secretary Rajesh Kumar has tested positive for the dreaded COVID-19 virus today.
Kumar's condition is said to be serious, and he was transferred to Delhi via air Ambulance yesterday.
He was earlier undergoing treatment at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) Hospital in Imphal.

Moreover, education director Laishram Nandakumar Singh is also currently admitted to the COVID-19 ward in the same hospital after being infected by the coronavirus.
Apart from Kumar and Singh, two other state officials -- additional secretary (tribal affairs and hills) Letkhogin Haokip, and CEO of Manipur PK Singh -- have also tested positive for the virus.
As of yesterday, the state had reported 255 active cases with the total number of cases stands at 29,721.
As many as 376 people have died due to the virus in Manipur, while 29,090 COVID patients have so far recovered.
