The Inner Line Permit (ILP) system of Manipur has come into immediate effect from Friday onwards, one day after the launch of its online portal, manipurilponline.com.
Aimed at keeping the state away from illegal infiltration, the ILP will maintain a database of all those who travel to the state. To start with Manipur’s ILP system, the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal will be operating it using six computer systems to generate pass.

The portal will be expanded in all the entry points where the ILP has been issued since January 1 and generate passes after saving the data. It may be mentioned that currently there are ILP points at the Imphal Airport, Mao in Senapati, Jiribam, Jessami in Ukhrul, Moreh in Tengnoupal, Behiang and Sinzawl in Churachandpur district.
The online service for the ILP would be initially available for temporary permits. The necessary payment can be made on receiving the clearance permission from authorities. Those applicants falling under the other three permits, namely regular permits, special permits and labour permits, would be able to submit the necessary details and documents online. However, issue of such permits would be subject to scrutiny of their documents.
