MIZORAM: Assam Rifles recovers heroin and foreign origin cigarettes from Champhai District

CHAMPHAI: In its drive against smuggling activities, Assam Rifles has recovered 119.6 grams of Heroin in Zokhawthar area of Champhai district.

Based on specific information, the operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and Customs Department of Champhai district.

The approximate value of the seized Heroin will be Rs. 47, 84,000/. The recovered items were handed over to the Customs Department For further legal proceedings.

In another operation, Assam Rifles has recovered 82 cases of foreign origin cigarettes in Chhungte in Champhai district on the same day.

The market value of the the cigrattes is Rs. 1,06,60000/. It has been handed over to the Customs Preventive Force of Champhai District for further legal proceedings.
