IMPHAL: N. Loken Singh, former Manipur Cabinet Minister, was appointed as the President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today with immediate effect by party national President Sonia Gandhi.
Loken Singh was serving as interim President of MPCC after state unit President Govindas Konthoujam resigned from Manipur Congress to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Apart from that, senior Congress leader and Wangkhem MLA Keisham Meghachandra Singh was appointed as MPCC working president along with Irengbam Hemochandra Singh and D. Korungthang.
Meghachandra Singh took to Twitter and said,"I extend my sincere thanks to Ma'am Sonia Gandhi ji for being appointed me as Working President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee."
