DIMAPUR: Nagaland to soon have a 200-bed acute care hospital in Dimapur in view of the requirement of ICU and oxygen-supported beds for COVID-19 patients amid the surge in COVID cases.
The Nagaland Government will facilitate the setting up of 200-bed, at a cost of Rs 30 crore in Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), informed health minister S Pangnyu Phom.
"This will be an additional asset to Dimapur and Nagaland," said Phom.
Notably, the facility will be a pre-engineered modern structure which could be useful after COVID as well.

"The decision to locate the hospital in the CIHSR was taken because of the availability of the land and to converge the human resources already available with CIHSR Dimapur," said Amardeep S Bhatia, Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, Nagaland.
The initial proposal of the hospital was for 176 beds but it has been expanded to 200-beds by including a 24-bed Pediatric ICU ward.
