GUWAHATI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against a superintendent of Customs based in Imphal, Wahengbam Hemantakiswar Luwang, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
A team of CBI conducted a search at the premises of Luwang and his relatives today and recovered cash worth Rs 10.59 lakh and gold ornaments worth Rs 15 lakh.

Moreover, four bank accounts, 15 Insurance policies and other incriminating documents, including purchase of several residential and agricultural plots, and investments in financial institutions were also recovered during the search.
The premiere investigating agency has been continuing its investigation in the matter.
