GANGTOK: The Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on Sunday called on Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang at his official residence in Mintokgang to discuss the ways to strengthen the bond between the North-East region and centre and collectively work for the development.
Additionally, the Chief Minister apprised him about the status of the education sector in Sikkim and added that the State Government is prioritising primary education to build a strong foundation. Also, he briefed the Minister about the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University of Excellence, NIT, Khamdong and other upcoming educational institutions in the State.

Further, the Chief Minister also informed the Minister about his proposal to conduct regular meetings in different North-East states to increase the understanding among the region.
Apart from this, they also deliberated on topics including organic farming, health, tourism and the COVID-19 situation in their respective states.
