GANGTOK: The Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang has welcomed the Prime Minister decision regarding the cancellation of the 12th standard board exams as announced by the Prime Minister.
"The decision to cancel the 12th standard exams announced by the Prime Minister is a logical one and I welcome it. The health and well-being of the students are of the highest importance and should not be compromised", said the Chief Minister.

He has further stated that the present scenario due to the pandemic is already difficult and exams would have added further anxiety to the students, parents and the teachers.
The Prime Minister on Tuesday announced the cancellation of CBSE class 12 exams after chairing a crucial meeting regarding the matter.
Making the announcement Modi said that the decision had been taken in the interest of students due to the uncertain situation created due to the pandemic.
