Thingling Khechoperi GPU in West Sikkim and Borong Phamtam GPU in South Sikkim have also banned entry of tourists in the area. Now six local bodies have banned entry of tourists into their areas.
Both GPUs have banned entry of tourists till 30 November 2020. However, Thingling Khechuperi has said that local tourists will be allowed provided they strictly follow safety protocol and return the same day.
Lachung in North Sikkim was the first to make such an announcement on 25 September banning tourists till 30 November.

Ribdi-Bhareng GPU under Daramdin constituency, West Sikkim banned entry of tourists till 30 November 2020 in a notice issued on 29 September.
On 28 September, Assam Lingzey GPU in East Sikkim issued a notice declaring restrictions on entry of international, national, domestic and local tourists till 31 December 2020. Prior to that on 27 September, Yuksam in West Sikkim had announced its decision to ban entry of tourists till 30 November 2020.
The State Government haf announced its decision to end all restrictions on entry into Sikkim starting 10 October.
