Uttarakhand BJP legislator booked for rape and criminal intimidation

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dwarahat in Uttarakhand Mahesh Negi has been booked for rape and criminal intimidation. Earlier, after a woman in a police complaint accused Negi of committing the crime.

An First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Negi at the Nehru Colony police station Dehradun under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC in compliance with the orders of a local court. The MLA's wife Rita Negi has also been booked for criminal intimidation.
