Any attempt to hurt India's honour will be dealt firmly: Rajnath Singh

In Arunachal Pradesh, while addressing a gathering at a public rally held in Namsai, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh raised concerns regarding China's recent actions.

He highlighted that China had altered the names of 30 locations within Arunachal Pradesh and publicized these changes on its official website. Asserting India's stance, Singh emphasized that merely altering names would not alter the ground realities.

He drew a parallel by questioning whether renaming certain regions or provinces within China would result in them becoming part of India.

"China has changed the names of 30 places of Arunachal Pradesh and posted on its website. I want to tell my neighbour that nothing is going to happen by changing the names. If tomorrow we change the names of some provinces and some states of China, so by doing that will those areas become a part of India?... We want to maintain good relations with our neighbours but if  someone tries to hurt India's honour then today India has the power to respond to it," said minister Rajnath Singh

Singh reiterated India's commitment to maintaining amicable relations with its neighbors. However, he made it clear that any attempt to undermine India's dignity or sovereignty would be met with a firm response.
