Arunachal: BJP stands firm against 'money culture', says CM Pema Khandu on Rs 15 crore seizure

In a resolute stance against the pervasive influence of money in politics, Arunachal Pradesh  Chief Minister Pema Khandu, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reaffirmed the party's commitment to development and performance over monetary allurements. Addressing the recent seizure of Rs 15 crores in cash by authorities, Khandu stated that the BJP staunchly rejects the notion of a 'money culture' in politics, advocating instead for transparency and integrity in electoral processes.

"BJP's agenda is centered on development and performance," stated Chief Minister Khandu, underlining the party's steadfast dedication to serving the people and fostering progress in Arunachal Pradesh. 

Dismissing the practice of blame politics, Khandu expressed gratitude towards the Election Commission for their efforts in apprehending the illicit funds. He further urged the commission to intensify their crackdown on such unwarranted financial influences during elections.

The recent seizure of Rs 15 crores adds to the mounting tally of confiscated assets since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) on March 16, with the total value of seized cash, illegal liquor, and other materials exceeding Rs 14.90 crore in the state. Arunachal Pradesh is currently gearing up for simultaneous polls for its two Lok Sabha seats and 50 assembly constituencies scheduled for April 19.
