Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma calls Rahul Gandhi Badruddin Ajmal's political father, AIUDF chief reacts

Badruddin Ajmal, the leader of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), strongly criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's recent remarks, wherein Sarma labeled Rahul Gandhi as Ajmal's political father.

Responding to Sarma's comments, Ajmal vehemently refuted the notion, stating, "He (Himanta Biswa Sarma) is defaming me. Rahul is not my father. My father's name is Ajmal Ali Sahab, as known to the entire world. If the Chief Minister is unaware of this fact, I implore him not to defame me with baseless accusations." 

Ajmal made these remarks during his participation in an election gathering held at Lengtisinga within the Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency, located in Bongaigaon district, on May 2nd. Additionally, Ajmal targeted CM Sarma saying that Sukur Ali is Himanta Biswa Sarma's mother's son. For the unversed

Sukur Ali has been under the spotlight since the General Elections 2019. He moonlighted as a music video star, grooved to catchy tunes, all while maitaining his enigmatic aura. 

Recently Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma sarcastically stated, "In Dhubri, Sukur Ali is going to win. His position is better than that of all the other candidates. If the youths of Samuguri are to believe, people of Dhubri are with Ali". 

Regarding Sarma's call for voters to refrain from supporting AIUDF and Congress in the Dhubri seat and instead vote for Sukur Ali, Ajmal asserted that Sarma's endorsement of Sukur Ali is rooted in familial ties. He implied that Sarma's support for Sukur Ali is influenced by the fact that Sukur Ali is Sarma's maternal sibling.

Moreover, Ajmal reacted to Sarma's statement suggesting that Rahul Gandhi and Ajmal are political allies, emphasizing that Rahul Gandhi is not his political mentor. He urged the Chief Minister to refrain from making such unfounded claims in the future.
