Khampha Borgyari, the candidate representing the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, exercised his voting privilege at The Basubari Primary School polling station in Chirang on May 7.
Simultaneously, Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gaura Brahma, along with his family, participated in the voting process at their ancestral village's Batabari ME School polling station.
Amidst this electoral activity, there is a sense of anticipation within the NDA government regarding the outcome of the election. The NDA-backed candidate from the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), Jayant Basumatary, is expected to emerge victorious.
The government's confidence in this assertion stems from the belief that Minister U G Brahma's perceived alignment with the central government will influence the election results in favor of the NDA-supported candidate.
