15 Strong Rooms, one counting hall ready for West Tripura Parliamentary Election, DEO inspects preparedness

The District Election Officer (DEO) of the West Tripura Parliamentary Seat, Dr Vishal Kumar, inspected the preparedness for setting up 15 strong rooms and one counting hall at Umakanta Higher Secondary School in Agartala on Monday.

The election for the West Tripura Parliamentary Seat will be held on April 19, along with the by-election in the 7-Ramanagar Assembly Constituency, which became vacant due to the demise of BJP MLA Surajit Datta.

After the inspection, Dr Kumar told reporters that the installation of CCTV cameras has already begun in the strong room, and Central Armed Paramilitary Forces will be deployed soon after the arrival of EVM machines.

“As the election is approaching and in the West Parliamentary Seats, the election will be held on 19th April. And for this, we have inspected the work related to the strong room and held meetings with the school authority to complete all the preparations related to counting halls and strong rooms. They have also highlighted some issues before us. So accordingly, we are resolving all the issues. This year CAPF will be deployed, and the process of installing CCTV cameras has already begun. 15 strong rooms and one counting hall will be available. Security personnel will also be deployed, and EVM machines will arrive soon,” he added.
