Assam: After Badruddin Ajmal's 'slap gate' controversy, AIUDF workers attack journalist in Dhubri

All is not well in the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) camp as after a video of Badruddin Ajmal slapping his own party workers circulated on social media, another incident has come to light. 

Reports have emerged now that AIUDF party workers physically assaulted a journalist in the Gauripur area of Dhubri on May 1.

As per reports, AIUDF workers allegedly attacked a journalist from a private news channel after people started to show their anger and resentment following Ajmal's absence from the campaign venue.

Speaking to the media, the victim said, "While the public was saying to me that Ajmal is a liar and will be casting the votes to Congress this LS polls, one of the AIUDF workers came and charged me of teaching the public to speak against Ajmal."

Further, the reporter claimed that around 20 AIUDF workers attacked him, following which he sustained serious injuries and also dislocated his shoulder.

As per reports, Ajmal was scheduled to attend the election rally at 4 PM in Rupshi's Daobhangi area under Dhubri district, however, he failed to turn up which later embroiled the situation.

Earlier on May 1, in a dramatic turn of events, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, the chief of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), sparked commotion at a party meeting in Mankachar today by slapping his own party worker in a fit of anger.

Eyewitnesses reported that Ajmal, visibly agitated, abruptly slapped his party worker while on his campaign trail for Aminul Islam.

According to the visuals, Ajmal went next to the microphone and started to slap one of his party workers while his others tried to intervene with the party chief.

Following the incident, Ajmal while interacting with media said, "Play...play it loud...Why did Badruddin Ajmal get angry."
