Assam: BJP office in Guwahati built by Dhubri labourers,' says Rakibul Hussain

Congress leader Rakibul Hussain launched scathing allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of ingratitude towards the laborers and carpenters of Dhubri who contributed to the construction of the BJP office in Guwahati.

"The BJP office in Guwahati, standing as a symbol of their power was erected with the toil and sweat of the people of Dhubri," stated Hussain. "Yet, it's these very laborers who are being unjustly sent to jail by the BJP."

Addressing reporters after an election rally, Hussain highlighted the overwhelming support for the Congress party in the Dhubri constituency, citing it as evidence of the region's allegiance.

"The multitude gathered here today is a proof to Dhubri's support for the Congress," he said. "It is abundantly clear that Badruddin Ajmal's popularity is dwindling in Dhubri. His cozy relationship with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has not gone unnoticed, but it has not served the people of Dhubri."

Hussain further criticized Ajmal for his alleged negligence during times of crisis, particularly during the National Register of Citizens (NRC) debacle. "While we stood by the women of Dhubri, even taking their plight to the Supreme Court, Ajmal remained silent. Today, hundreds and thousands of women have rallied behind Congress, reflecting their faith in our commitment to their welfare."

Taking aim at Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hussain drew attention to the Chief Minister's past electoral defeat, contrasting it with his own unblemished record. "Sarma may have tasted defeat once, but I have never faltered in any election," said Hussain.
