Assam: BPF releases election manifesto, promises equal development and tribal rights

As the general elections draw near, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) has set forth its vision for the region with the release of its Lok Sabha election manifesto. The manifesto launch took center stage during an election campaign meeting was held at Gossainisna community hall in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.

Leading the charge, BPF candidate from the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, Khampha Bargyari presented the party's manifesto to a gathering of party leaders, activists, and supporters.

At the heart of the manifesto lies the commitment to ensure equal development and rights for all ethnic groups residing in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) region. Central to this vision is the tribalization of six tribes, including the Koch-Rajbangshi and Adivasis of Assam.

Addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by the region, the manifesto outlines a comprehensive agenda. It pledges to address pressing issues such as the plight of "D" voters, educational reforms, agricultural revitalization and improvements in transportation, communication, healthcare, and women-child development initiatives.

The manifesto launch witnessed the presence of BPF figures including MLA Rabiram Narzary, party chairman Thaneshwar Basumatary, and general secretary Maneswar Brahma, alongside numerous local leaders and residents.
