Assam: Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma holds mega roadshow in Tinsukia

Ahead of the upcoming general elections 2024 and to support BJP MP candidates in Assam, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma held a vibrant roadshow in Tinsukia, Assam.

Earlier in the day, at a poll rally in Lakhimpur, Amit Shah stated the resolute stance of the Narendra Modi-led government against any encroachment on Indian soil by China. Amidst murmurs of historical grievances, Shah reaffirmed, "China couldn't encroach even a single inch of our land under the Narendra Modi government."

Drawing a sharp contrast to past administrations, Shah criticized the response of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru during the 1962 Chinese aggression, asserting the current government's proactive measures in protecting India's borders. He also directed scrutiny towards the Opposition, particularly the Congress, accusing them of historical negligence in confronting China effectively.

Addressing concerns over infiltration and unrest in Assam, Shah hailed the Modi government's initiatives to fortify the state's borders and restore stability through peace accords. He questioned Rahul Gandhi's recent statements advocating for the preservation of Assam's cultural heritage, highlighting the Congress's track record of neglect towards the region's icons.
