Assam: Lack of coordination in Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi's poll campaign, alleges Akhil Gogoi

Sivsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi expressed dissatisfaction with Gaurav Gogoi's election campaign, the Congress party and the opposition unity forum candidate in Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency.

According to Akhil Gogoi, the Congress party has not shown the necessary urgency in Gaurav Gogoi's election campaign.

He stated that three MLAs, including himself, are in favour of Gaurav Gogoi in the Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency.

"Two from the Congress, i.e. one is Debabrata Saikia, the other is Bhaskar Jyoti Baruah of Titabar and I in Sivasagar. We will give a lead to Gaurav Gogoi from Sivasagar. This is my challenge. I don't know how the rest of the MLAs have worked to give leads," he added.

He criticized the Congress party's district-level leaders and highlighted issues with coordination. Despite this, he confirmed that every worker of their party is diligently working.

"I have only one issue of co-ordination, we are not being informed. Like Gaurav Gogoi could have invited me while he campaigned in Sivsagar or at least accompany him in Jorhat wherein Raijor Dol members are also active for support, hence these kinds of co-ordination is missing," he added.

He also mentioned that he personally conducted fieldwork in the media. He further added that the party has provided the required logistical support to their committees. However, he expressed concern over the lack of information about the Congress party's activities. He emphasized the need for better coordination with Gaurav Gogoi.

He also stated that his team is performing well in Sonari, Mahmara, Dimau or Thawra assembly constituencies.

He praised former party leader Konwar's efforts in Thaora and stated that their workers are performing well in Mariani Assembly, Majuli and Titabar.

However, he expressed ignorance about the Congress party's performance in other areas and urged the Congress party to improve to win Gaurav Gogoi.
