Assam minister Pijush Hazarika casts vote, dismisses opposition's EVM allegations

Assam's Minister and BJP leader Pijush Hazarika castsĀ his vote for the Lok Sabha Polls 2024 in Nagaon. Hazarika addressed the media, dismissing allegations made by the opposition regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices.

Hazarika stated, "Whenever Congress wins, then there is no discussion of EVM and VVPAT... When they won in Himachal Pradesh, did they oppose EVMs... Whenever the opposition (Congress) loses, they blame the EVMs. All these allegations are baseless. It is just their character."

Expressing confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) performance, Hazarika expressed hope for a significant victory, saying, "I hope we will win more than 400 seats. PM Narendra Modi will be the PM for the 3rd time."

He also highlighted the BJP's achievements during its tenure, citing infrastructure development as a key factor in garnering public support. "The BJP has done the work in the nation. They have increased the number of airports, highways, medical colleges, etc. That's why people support PM Modi," he added.
