Assam: Muslims will not be allowed to do Azaan if BJP wins , says Badruddin Ajmal

AIUDF party chief Badruddin Ajmal on April 14 said that Muslims would be prohibited from performing Azaan if the BJP secures victory in the upcoming elections. Speaking at an election rally in Balijan, Morigaon, Ajmal stated the critical nature of the impending elections. He warned against the potential consequences of a BJP triumph, alleging a fundamental shift in India's constitutional fabric.

"This election is very crucial and important," Ajmal said. "Modi says 'Abki Baar.. 400 par'. Just don't let it happen, because if it does, the constitution will change. They will make the constitution and India a Hindu rashtra, and we Muslims will be left with nowhere to go. We will not be allowed to perform Azaan in the masjid."

The assertion drew attention to the broader debate over religious freedoms and the BJP's stance on issues affecting minority communities. 

Ajmal also questioned the authenticity of certain candidates' religious affiliations, asserting that Suresh Bora, Pradyut Bordoloi, and Gaurav Gogoi are not "true Muslims." He urged voters to support AIUDF candidate Aminul Islam as a representative of authentic Muslim interests.
