Assam: Safai Karamchari's Union threatens NOTA in Barpeta Lok Sabha elections

Ahead of the Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency elections, the Safai Karamchari Union has announced its intention to exercise the None Of The Above (NOTA) option. With over 10,000 sanitation workers under its banner, the union's decision could significantly impact the electoral landscape.

The declaration was made by the central president of the Safai Karamchari Union, during a press conference held at the Greater Bongaigaon Press Club in Bongaigaon town. The President stated that the decision to opt for NOTA stems from a collective dissatisfaction with the existing political options and their failure to address the concerns of sanitation workers.

Speaking to reporters, the President stated, "More than 10,000 safai karamcharis have decided to vote for NOTA in the upcoming elections for the Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency. Our decision reflects a sense of disillusionment with the political class, which has repeatedly overlooked the welfare and rights of sanitation workers."
