Assam: Violence erupts at polling center in Juria; Independent Candidate alleges attack by Congress supporters

Violence erupted at a polling center, with independent candidate Abu Yousuf Mohammad Raihan Uddin alleging an attack by individuals purportedly affiliated with the Congress party.

The incident occurred as Abu Yousuf Mohammad Raihan Uddin embarked on election campaigning alongside his supporters. Reports indicate that the peaceful atmosphere was shattered when Congress-backed individuals allegedly disrupted the proceedings, launching an attack from a vehicle and pelting stones at the independent candidate and his entourage.

Identified as one of the alleged instigators behind the assault is Majibur Rahman, a Congress party member. 

Abu Yousuf lodged a complaint with local police at Juria.

Furthermore, amidst the chaos, there have been allegations of stone-throwing by personnel associated with the Personal Security Officer(PSO).
