United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) chief Pramod Boro has predicted a drastic fall for the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) in the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, saying the party may win only 2–3 seats in Kokrajhar while drawing blanks across most other districts.
Addressing a meeting with members of the Madahi community at Bhalukmuri in Baksa district on Tuesday, Boro said BPF president Hagrama Mohilary, who is contesting from Debargaon and Chirang Duar, faces an “uncertain position.”
“If we look across the districts—Baksa will be zero, Tamulpur zero, Chirang zero, and Udalguri almost nil. At best, the BPF may manage 2–3 seats in Kokrajhar, but overall, they have a lot of ground to cover,” Boro remarked.

The UPPL chief accused Mohilary of turning the BTC elections into a “money game,” alleging that the BPF has failed to raise genuine social issues. He further asserted that Mohilary will be defeated in both the constituencies he is contesting, while the UPPL is poised to form the next BTC government with a clear majority.
Several party leaders, including Koklabari candidate Montu Boro, were present alongside Pramod Boro during the interaction.
