Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi will lose Jorhat LS seat with 2.5 lakh votes against BJP: Assam minister Pijush Hazarika

Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika has claimed that if Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi contests from the Jorhat LS seat, the BJP will secure a victory with a margin of 2.5 lakh votes.

Speaking on the preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the cabinet minister asserted to win 12 LS seats and the opposition may win in maximum of two seats.

Slamming the Congress party, Hazarika claimed that till now the party has not had any candidate in its Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Kaziranga or Guwahati LS seats to mention a few.

"They (Congress) are only fighting for the Nagoan LS seat and also Karimganj seat...For them, only Muslim votes matter but this time even Muslim people will not vote for Congress as they did not work for the people," he added.

Pijush Hazarika claimed that if Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi contests from the Jorhat LS seat then, BJP will win the seat with a margin of 2.5 lakh votes.

"One may write done now itself, we will win with a vote share of 2.5 lakh votes if Gaurav Gogoi fights from Jorhat seat against BJP leader Tapan Gogoi, " he added.

On the otherhand, Pijush Hazarika also said, "We have come here in Moriani and also in Titabor to lay the foundation stone for 5 schools. We will also be going to Jorhat and Tiok. This week we are mulling to upgrade 315 schools this week for we have earmarked Rs 7-8 crore."
