CPI/MSC extends support to INC candidate in Inner Manipur against BJP

Communist Party of India-Manipur State Council (CPI/MSC) warmly received Indian National Congress (INC) candidate, Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam who is contesting to inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency of 18th Lok Sabha Poll today at its Irawat Bhawan.

National Executive Member of Communist Party India (CPI), Dr Moirangthem Nara Singh expressed the reason of supporting Indian National Congress as one of the main strategies to defeat BJP government by coming together all like-minded groups.

Nara said that there is need to unite like-minded political parties observing the present scenario. People are fed up of BJP both in centre and state. In order to ousted the party from power, all likeminded political parties numbering around 10 had decided to come together and fight the election.

He continued and said that CPI had even approved to field state secretary of CPI/MSC, Laishram Sotinkumar as their candidate for inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency. But observing the changing scenario, the party has made some sacrifice and decided to support INC candidate by withdrawing the CPI candidature.

It may be mentioned that 10 like-minded political parties jointly fighting the election are Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Janata Dal (United), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist), All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP).
