Himanta Biswa Sarma backs PM Modi's prediction, says Congress will announce Rahul Gandhi's name from Amethi after Wayanad polls

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while interacting with the media stated that Prime Minister Modi's prediction about the Congress party will be proven correct.

According to him, following the polls in Wayanad, the Congress party will declare Rahul Gandhi as their representative from Amethi.

This assertion comes amidst the ongoing political discourse in the nation.

Speaking to the media, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Rahul Gandhi lost last time and he will lose this time also. Gandhi should have announced his candidature before the voting of Wayanad but as PM Modi has said Gandhi is going to announce his candidature after the Wayanad elections take place. That shows how Congress wants to seek the voters...he should have declared in the very beginning...but he wants to deceive the voters of Wayanad and then will come to Amethi but people of Amethi will teach him a lesson."

Earlier Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack on the Congress leader and MP from the Wayanad constituency of Kerala in the ongoing Lok Sabha poll campaign.

The Assam CM accused Gandhi of using the Wayanad seat just to keep his luxurious home in Lutyen's Delhi.

Himanta Biswa Sarma also questioned the locals about how familiar they were with their MP Rahul Gandhi.

During his visit to the region, Sarma asked local residents if Gandhi owned a house there if they had his mobile number, and if they had ever shared a meal with him.

He claimed that none of the locals he interacted with could provide answers to his queries and remained clueless.
