The Assam State Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced social worker Manaranjan Brahma as its official candidate for the No. 10 Dotoma (ST) constituency.
Following the announcement, Brahma was greeted with a grand welcome across the constituency. Supporters organised a band party procession, burst firecrackers, and enthusiastically expressed their backing for the candidate.
Launching his campaign, Brahma visited the ancient Kali Mandir at Ramfalbil to seek blessings before commencing election activities. Accompanied by Phani Pathak, BJP in-charge for Dotoma, Brahma also offered prayers at the Puwa Mahadev Shiva Temple and Maa Kali Temple, highlighting his spiritual ties to the region.

Speaking to the media, Brahma expressed gratitude to BJP State President Dilip Saikia and Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for their trust, pledging to serve the people of Dotoma with dedication and unity.
“I will contest this election not as a rival, but as a brother to everyone,” Brahma said. “I will maintain mutual respect and avoid any political confrontation or personal criticism. Leaders like Hagrama Mohilary and Pramod Boro are like elder brothers to me.”
The announcement and the ensuing celebrations mark the beginning of Brahma’s electoral journey in Dotoma, signalling the BJP’s strategic push in the Bodoland Territorial Region ahead of the September 22 polls.
