Manipur Lok Sabha elections 2024: Women to manage 81 out of 228 polling stations in Senapati district

Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate Mamoni Doley revealed the preparations for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections in Senapati, Manipur. 

According to Doley, they have 228 polling stations spread across three assembly segments, with well-trained polling personnel to ensure a smooth election day. 

She also mentioned that 81 polling stations will be managed by women. Law and order assessments have been conducted with the police and security deployment, including Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and state armed forces, has been planned. 

Doley appealed to the public to participate in the elections in large numbers and expressed optimism about maintaining law and order during the elections.

On preparations & arrangements for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections, Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate Mamoni Doley says, "We have 228 polling stations in our district, three assembly segments, and we have trained our polling personnel properly so that the poll-day is done smoothly. 81 polling stations would be run by women. In terms of law and order, we have done an assessment with the police. The (security) deployment has been planned. CAPF will be deployed along with state armed forces... We are also appealing to people to come out and vote on a large scale... We are hopeful that no law and order issues will happen during the elections..."

The elections for the remaining segments of the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency are scheduled for April 26, as announced by Chief Electoral Officer Pradeep Jha.

According to official data, the number of voters for the second phase stands at 484,949. Among them, there are 239,140 male voters, 245,807 female electors, and 2 individuals belonging to the third gender category.
