Mizoram: ZPM to fight Lok Sabha elections alone, says CM Lalduhawma

Mizoram's Chief Minister, Lalduhawma, announced that the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) plans to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections independently.

He made it clear that despite the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) having their own candidates, it does not mean there won't be a contest.

He also highlighted that Nitish Kumar has parted ways with the INDIA alliance.

Although West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remains part of the alliance, Lalduhawma suggests she has practically left.

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhawma said, "Since they (BJP) have their own candidates we cannot say that there is no fight...Nitish Kumar had left the INDIA alliance and Mamata Banerjee has not left the alliance but practically she has left...There is no alliance...We are not supporting anybody...We want to take the final decision and nobody should take the final decision for us."

He emphasized that there is no existing alliance and they are not endorsing anyone.

Lalduhawma asserted their autonomy in decision-making and expressed their desire to make their own final decisions without external influence.
