Rhino poaching incidents increased during the time when Himanta Biswa Sarma was denied CM position: Rakibul Hussain

Rakibul Hussain, Assam Congress candidate from Dhubri Lok Sabha seat, alleges a rise in rhino poaching incidents linked to the denial of the Chief Minister position to Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Rakibul Hussain while interacting with the media said, "When Himanta Biswa Sarma urged to become the chief minister during the Tarun Gogoi-led regime, many from the party supported his move, however, after working with him closely I did not betray Tarun Gogoi and did not support Himanta Biswa Sarma's desire, during that time rhino poaching incident increased in the state".

Further Hussian asserted that when he was the Forest minister, poachers earlier used 303 rifles, however, it was revealed by then SB of state police, Khagen Sharma that poachers were carrying AK 47 and 56 earlier used by surrendered extremists.

Hussian also claimed that Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote a letter to him extending help to fight the rhino poaching cases in the state and allegedly acknowledged the letter stating that only he could stop these incidents.

In a show of strength and determination, the Congress candidate for the 2-Dhubri HPC seat, Rakibul Hussain, led a massive rally in the Indo-Bangladesh border area of Dhubri assembly constituency. The event took place at Dharmasala, a region considered a stronghold of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF).

In an exclusive interview with reporters, Rakibul Hussain minced no words as he launched a scathing attack on the AIUDF and its leadership. He accused the AIUDF of divisive politics and questioned their commitment to the welfare of the people.

Furthermore, he directly targeted Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, challenging the ruling party's policies and governance.

Badruddin Ajmal's role in AIUDF has influenced certain political dynamics in the region, attributing the rise of a mischievous and notorious chief minister solely to his existence in AIUDF might oversimplify the complex interplay of socio-political factors at play. It's important to consider the broader context and various actors involved in shaping political outcomes.

The political landscape in Dhubri is heating up, and all eyes are on Rakibul Hussain as he seeks to sway voters and make a lasting impact. With the election fervor intensifying, the battle for Dhubri promises to be closely watched and fiercely contested.

The rally, organized by the Dhubri District Congress, witnessed an impressive turnout of supporters and party members. Under the leadership of district Congress president Abedur Zaman Jewel, the gathering included prominent figures such as MLA Wazed Ali Chowdhury, MLA Abdus Sobahan Ali Sarkar, and district Mahila Congress president Baby Begum. However, the spotlight remained firmly on Rakibul Hussain, the Congress party's candidate for the Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency.
