Maharishi Tuhin Kashyap's Assamese short film 'Mur Ghurar Duronto Goti' (The Horse from Heaven) has captured the spotlight once again, clinching the prestigious Best Film award at the Golden Raven International Film Festival in Russia. The accolade adds to the film's growing list of achievements, including its selection as India's entry for the 2023 Academy Awards.

The prize distribution ceremony took place in Anadyr city, located in the Sukhka Autonomous Region of Russia. Representatives from the Indian Embassy in Russia accepted the award on behalf of the filmmakers, underscoring the international recognition garnered by Indian cinema.

Having initially earned acclaim by winning the Best Picture award at the Bangalore International Film Festival in 2022, 'Mur Ghurar Duronto Goti' secured its place as India's Oscar representative. Notably, it marked a historic milestone as the first Assamese short film to vie for the prestigious Academy Awards.

The film's success transcends borders, resonating with audiences worldwide. In 2022, it received acclaim at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, commonly known as VGIK, a renowned film school in Moscow founded by Lenin in 1919. The film's recognition at VGIK underscores its universal appeal and artistic merit.

Maharishi Tuhin Kashyap conveyed his gratitude to the audience at the Golden Raven International Film Festival through a heartfelt video message. He expressed his earnest wishes for global peace, reflecting the film's underlying message of hope and compassion amidst adversity.
