The highly anticipated web series, 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar', created and helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has further augmented the excitement with the release of its first song, 'Sakal Ban'. The song was launched at the Miss World 2024 finale, where the star-studded cast of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal joined Miss World 2024 contestants.
A picture from the event featuring the leading ladies of the show and Miss World contestants, all dressed in period attire, was shared on social media platforms by the production house.
The 71st edition of the Miss World pageant, held in India on March 9, saw the participants sharing the ramp with the cast of 'Heeramandi'.
Aditi shared a clip of the Miss World contestants and cast of 'Heeramandi' walking the ramp as they lauched the song. She wrote, "Sharing the stage with the beauties of Miss World 2024 to launch the first song of #Heeramandi, Sakal Ban #SakalBan SONG OUT NOW from #HEERAMANDI. Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is coming soon, only on Netflix! ".
Sakal Ban, sung by Raja Hasan and penned by Amir Khusro, was launched under Bhansali's new music label, Bhansali Music.
The series, set in pre-independence India, tells a tale of love and betrayal in a world where courtesans were once queens. The show, marking Bhansali's debut in the OTT space, is set to premiere on Netflix later this year.
