Nagaland Governor approves creation of 10 new NPS posts

KOHIMA: The Nagaland Police has received a major shot in its arm, with the approval for the creation of 10 posts for the Nagaland Police Service (NPS), as well as for up-gradation of 4 existing posts.

Principal Secretary (Home ), Abjihit Sinha on December 21 informed that the changes were part of the NPS cadre review approved by the Nagaland Cabinet on December 18, reports said.

"The Governor of Nagaland is pleased to convey the approval for creation of 10 posts and upgrading of 4 posts with ‘Immediate effect," the statement said.

The newly created posts include one Superintendent of Police (Cyber Security), SP (Modernization), SP (Economic Offence); and Commandant, Counter Insurgency and Anti-terrorism School (CIATS), Ruzaphema, reports said.

Another notification issued on December 21 informed on the upgradation of 4 posts.

It included upgrading of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Crime) to that of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Dimapur; Assistant Commandant 10th NAP (IR) to that of the Deputy Commandant Quarter Master, NAPTC; Assistant Commandant 11th NAP (IR) to that of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Protocol/Traffic), Dimapur; and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Security), Establishment of IGP (INT) to that of Additional Superintendent of Police (Security), Establishment of IGP (INT).
