Manipur: 2 more corona positive cases, state total rises to 9

Two new corona positive cases have been reported in Manipur. This has taken the tally for the number of covid19 patients to 9.

One positive case of Covid19 found in Manipur today. A 22-year-old female was tested at JNIMS Porompat and found positive of COVID-19. She belongs to the Manipur’s Kamjong district.

The recent case

One positive case of Covid19 found in Manipur on 16th May. A 22-year-old female was tested at JNIMS Porompat and found positive of COVID-19. She belongs to the Manipur’s Kamjong district. The corona positive girl had worked as a nurse in Kolkata and further details are awaited regarding the travel history. It is important to note that the girl was asymtomatic at the onset of illness.

Tripura has the highest number of positives followed by Assam. Sikkim so far has 0 home cases. Manipur now has 9 cases.

In India

As of 19th May, India has reached 101,000* in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 58,802 active cases with 39,173 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 3,163.

As many as +131 corona virus deaths were confirmed in India in the last 24 hours. Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross a thousand deaths. It has recorded 35,058 corona cases with 8,437 cured and 1,249 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 11,745 cases with 4,804 cured and 694 deaths. Tamil Nadu has crossed 11,760 cases with 4,406 cured and 81 deaths. The National Capital with 10,054 covid19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on18th May. So, far 4485 have been cured in Delhi with 168 deaths.
