IMPHAL: The Manipur Government has announced in a recently released memorandum that ambulance sirens should be muted in the state from now on.
The decision came into force in view of the present COVID situation in the state and it was stated in the memorandum that the sirens trigger panic and increasing social anxiety among the public.

Though sirens are allowed to activate in case of road blockade, otherwise the roads of Manipur are already empty nowadays and there is no traffic.
The memorandum undersigned by Dr. K. Rajo Singh, Director of Health Services, Manipur issued to all the Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, all Private Hospitals and private ambulances services to abide by this rule.
