New Delhi, October 2, 2019:

According to Inside Northeast sources, the political scenario in Manipur could change drastically after 4 pm today. According to sources, a meeting between the top-brass BJP leadership and Manipur BJP leaders, including Chief Minister N Biren Singh, is to be held at the BJP office in national capital New Delhi at 4 pm in the afternoon, later today.

The meeting will be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Th Bishwajit, and State BJP President Bhabananda Singh.

This comes amid murmurs that the Chief Minister Biren Singh could be replaced by Minister Th Bishwajit before the day is over, amid withering support from the party leadership both within and outside the State.

An Inside Northeast source has also confirmed that Th Biswajit is being favored by the RSS, a mysterious yet formidable political force in Manipur, to take over as the Chief Minister.

It may be mentioned here that on September 29, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and some other leaders of the state BJP, including Rajya Sabha MP K.Bhabananda, and Works Minister Th Bishwajit met top profile Central BJP leaders at the Head Office of BJP at New Delhi. It is pertinent to mention here that BJP leaderc N Biren Singh was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Manipur on March 15, 2017.
