The District Administration of Kangpokpi today launched the “Dharti Aaba Abhiyan – Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camps” at Hengbung village. The campaign is part of a nationwide initiative by the Government of India aimed at saturating tribal and underserved regions with government benefits and essential services.
The campaign, which will run till June 30, 2025, is expected to cover 59 villages in a cluster-wise format, focusing on critical areas such as healthcare, education, livelihood support, housing, and social security.
The inaugural function at KVK Hengbung witnessed the presence of several senior officials, including Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, ADC/ADM Shokhongam Baite, SDO Tujang Vaichong Hemant Kumar, CEO SHADC James Doujapao Haokip, and SDO Champhai Lamminlal Simte.
As part of the kickoff activities, Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) health cards, micro-nutrients, and saplings were distributed to beneficiaries. The DC and his team also inspected 17 departmental stalls/help desks, which were set up to provide real-time services and assistance on government schemes and entitlements.

The district administration has launched an extensive publicity campaign involving local media, banners, posters, and public announcements to inform and mobilize residents.
