Manipur: BJP LS candidate from Inner constituency promises to restore peace and normalcy in state if elected

BJP Manipur Pradesh received education minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh upon nomination as BJP candidate from the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat.

Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh assured to prioritize in bringing peace and normalcy in the state of Manipur if he is elected as MP in the ensuing Inner Manipur Parliamentary election. 

Basanta Kumar Singh openly declared this commitment today at a reception ceremony held at the BJP Office also known as Thambal Shanglen.

BJP Manipur Pradesh expressed contentment for nominating education minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh as BJP candidate for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Election. 

After his (Basanta Kumar) name was formally announced as BJP candidate, the party received a warm welcome in the presence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh; party president A Sarda Devi along with most of the cabinet ministers and MLAs etc. 

Addressing the media, Basantakumar said that nominating him as BJP candidate for the upcoming Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency is a great honour and privilege for him. 

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to BJP central leaders and state leaders for giving me the opportunity to fight this prestigious parliamentary election,” he expressed and further said that the upcoming election is very significant and crucial for Manipur. 

He said that the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will surely return in the centre a third consecutive term with a thumping majority. Amidst this situation, it is of utmost need to win BJP from Manipur in this coming Lok Sabha election.

The ongoing crisis is almost under control and limping back to normalcy. It is very much sure that in the centre, the strong government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will return in the centre. With the help of the central government, I will do my best to bring back normalcy by relocating all the displaced victims of the current crisis,” he promised.

He said that the parliamentary system of India follows the Westminster model. Various rules and norms for parliamentary proceedings are set under this model. As per this system, time allotment given to MPs during parliamentary sessions varies according to size of the party. The small party usually give few minutes while the majority party gets more time to raise issues. Viewing this, it is better to elect a candidate similar with the ruling party. 

“The coming parliamentary election is very important. It is just like a litmus test for Manipur. Understanding the prevailing situation of Manipur, people of the state to cast their vote for BJP so that the party can bring peace and welfare in the state,” he said.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh also expressed his appreciation to central leaders for nominating Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh as BJP candidate.

“I would like to express my thankfulness to central leaders for giving the ticket to right person amid this critical situation of Manipur. I would like to urged people of the state to cast their vote to Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh so that the state could bring peace and development with the help of BJP government in the centre,” Biren urged. 

He also in a short span of six years, BJP government has taken up various welfare activities and initiatives in Manipur. Trusting the steps taken up central government to protect the indigenous people and the integrity of Manipur, people of the state to elect the nominated BJP candidate.
