Manipur: Hill Tribal Council Moreh leads candlelight vigil honouring Pahalgam terror victims

In a solemn display of sorrow and solidarity, the Hill Tribal Council (HTC) Moreh led a candlelight vigil this evening at the MYC Office Campus to honor the victims of the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam.

Flickering flames lit the night as members of the community gathered in quiet reverence.

Representatives from various Civil Society Organizations—including the Kuki Women's Union & Human Rights, Moreh Youth Club, Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi, and Kuki Students Organization—stood shoulder to shoulder with local residents, their faces reflecting both grief and resolve.

Victor Limthang Touthang, President of HTC Moreh, delivered a powerful message of condemnation against the brutal act of terror. "Terrorism has no place in our society," he declared, his voice steady with emotion. "The people of Moreh stand united against this evil, and we mourn deeply for every life lost."

With tears and heartfelt prayers, the gathering paid tribute to the brave Indian Army personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. "Their sacrifice is etched in the soul of our nation," Touthang said, urging the crowd to remember the courage of those who died so others may live.

A moment of silence enveloped the assembly—an overwhelming hush that spoke louder than words. In that silence, hearts broke, hope flickered, and a shared promise echoed: that even in the face of terror, humanity and unity will always prevail.
