Manipur: Red Shield division dedicates library to Khaochangbung village

In a significant step towards uplifting the educational standards of remote villages, the Signal Regiments under the Red Shield Division have dedicated a newly established library to the people of Khaochangbung village in Kangpokpi district.

The initiative carried out under Operation Sadbhavana, underscores the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to fostering education and holistic development in underserved regions.

The dedication ceremony witnessed a heartwarming moment as two of the youngest school-going children from the village were given the honor of cutting the ceremonial ribbon, symbolizing a brighter future for the next generation. The event was graced by village elders, military officials, and local residents who gathered to celebrate this milestone.

Following the ribbon-cutting, Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou led a solemn dedication prayer, invoking blessings for the newly established facility. Recognizing the pressing needs of the community, the Village Chief also submitted a memorandum requesting the construction of a Community Hall and fencing for the village playground—an appeal aimed at further enhancing communal infrastructure and recreational spaces for the youth.

In his address, a senior official from the Red Shield Division encouraged the students and youth to embrace their responsibilities as the future of the nation. He emphasized the transformative power of education and urged them to make the best use of the library’s resources.

Apart from a well-stocked collection of books, the library has been equipped with computer sets, tables, chairs, and bookshelves, ensuring a conducive learning environment. This strategic move is expected to significantly improve digital literacy among the village's children and provide them with tools to expand their knowledge.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, the Village Chief and residents lauded the Red Shield Division for their unwavering dedication and for prioritizing the educational welfare of their children. They acknowledged the initiative as a beacon of hope, fostering academic growth and creating new opportunities for the younger generation.
