According to reports, the first two explosions took place between 5:40 am and 5:55 am, while the third blast occurred around 8:30 am, jolting residents of the area out of their sleep.
The blasts occurred at an abandoned house located in the Saiton–Nganukon area under Phougakchao police station. The area is under the security cover of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Bombs were planted at the abandoned house of Salam Manipur (70), who is currently staying at a relief camp. Following the initial explosion, people rushed to the spot.
Meanwhile, at around 8:46 a.m., another blast occurred about 200 metres away from the abandoned house. In the second explosion, two persons were injured.
They were identified as Soibam Sanatombi (52), son of late S. Angoubi of Saiton Makha Leikai, and Nongthombam Indubala (37), wife of late N. Bishworjit of Saiton Heiyaikon Maning Leikai.
