Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying the foundation stone of a new healthcare unit in the state, valued at approximately Rs 16 crores.
CM Singh emphasized that this initiative transcends mere financial investment, highlighting the significance of the Prime Minister's commitment to enhancing healthcare in Manipur and the broader northeastern region.
During his remarks, Singh noted, “We are very grateful to PM Modi for including the foundation stone laying of our healthcare unit. It is not just about the money, but the importance that the PM has given to Manipur and other parts of the northeast. We truly appreciate it.” He further acknowledged PM Modi's consistent efforts to support the northeastern states, particularly emphasizing the recent launch of the Ayushman Bharat cards, which aim to provide financial assistance of ₹5 lakhs to citizens aged 70 years and above nationwide.
“This is a commendable service to the people,” Singh added. The new healthcare unit is anticipated to significantly enhance medical services for residents of Manipur, marking a pivotal step toward better health infrastructure in the state.
