Condemning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Manipur violence, a large number of people boycotted ''Mann Ki Baat'', and staged a protest at Indo-Burma road under Imphal West District on June 18.
During the agitation, protestors destroyed the radio set and raised slogans by showing disinterest to listen to the Mann Ki Baat program.
''We oppose the Mann Ki Baat program and we are against it. No Mann Ki Baat yes to Manipur ki Baat. We don't want to hear PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat,'' said one of the protestors.
Speaking on the matter, the Media Coordinator of Thawai Meerel, Khomdram Surendra said that condemning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the present crisis of Manipur, they boycotted All India Radio's Maan ki Baat talk program.
''Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi doesn't care about the hue and cry of Manipur. So, the people don't want to listen to his Maan ki Baat,'' he added.
Surendra further said that the Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh's inability to pressurize the central leader to end the present crisis shows his weakness.
Expressing his anguish over PM Modi's silence on Manipur, Surendra further said that the PM came to Manipur during the election time to seek a vote with folded hand, but he doesn't want to solve the crisis in the state sincerely.
"Are both PM Modi and Biren Singh sought to vote for BJP to turn Manipur into ashes?" he questioned.
