The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) jointly with the Khasi Students’ Union and Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), conducted a thorough inspection of trading licenses in the Khanapara to Byrnihat area of Ri Bhoi District on Friday.
Leading this inspection were KHADC Chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem, EM Victor Rani, MDC Alvin Syiem, revenue office officials, and KHADC Enforcement police.
They identified over 40 shops in these areas that lacked proper Trading or Labour Licenses. As a result, the CEM of KHADC issued closure notices to more than 45 shop establishments for non-compliance with licensing requirements.

Nevertheless, KHADC issued notices to some shops, requiring them to complete the necessary documentation within one week. Failure to do so would result in the suspension of their operations until they acquired all the required documents.
CEM Pyniaid emphasized the urgency of the situation and directed Enforcement Officers to take all necessary actions within the next week. Establishments that choose to ignore the notices and orders issued by KHADC will be compelled to remain closed until they conform to the necessary regulations.
