Aizawl gears up for 2nd International Half Marathon

The Mizoram government is set to host the 2nd Aizawl International Half Marathon, with preparations underway to transform the event into a grand celebration of sports, culture, and community.

Speaking at the launch, Mizoram Sports Resident Commissioner Alexander V. Chongthu described the marathon as “not just a sporting event, but a festival where we will celebrate sports and life and enjoy the beautiful Aizawl and its surroundings.”

Chongthu highlighted the growing connectivity of Mizoram, noting that “Aizawl appears very distant on the Indian map, but now we are connected through Indian Railways thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently inaugurated the Aizawl train station.” He added that the new rail link is expected to draw participants from across the country, boosting nationwide engagement in the event.
