Mizoram governor confers Rajya Puraskar Awards on 149 Scouts and Guides
Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh on November 25 presented the Rajya Puraskar Award—the highest state-level honour of the Mizoram Bharat Scouts & Guides (MBS&G)—to 149 Scouts and Guides during a ceremony at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Aizawl.
Congratulating the awardees, the Governor said the Rajya Puraskar marks a significant milestone in the journey of every Scout and Guide. He urged the recipients to view the honour as a stepping stone toward the Rashtrapati Puraskar, the nation’s top Scouting distinction. Praising the discipline, community spirit and dedication of Mizo youth, he expressed confidence that their values would guide them toward greater achievements.
The Governor underscored that the Rajya Puraskar symbolises perseverance, service, discipline and a commitment to self-improvement—the core values of the Scouting and Guiding movement. He highlighted the crucial role Scouts and Guides play in shaping responsible citizens, calling on them to use their skills to protect the environment, contribute to community development and preserve Mizoram’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. As Chief Patron of MBS&G, he reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening and expanding the movement across the state.
State Chief Commissioner H. Lalhmingthanga welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude for the Governor’s continued support, while State Commissioner of Scouts Pu K. Lalthawmmawia delivered the vote of thanks.
